Hitting the streets for the Great British Spring Clean

Teams from our services were proud to take part in the Great British Spring Clean this week.
They hit the streets with their litter-pickers and bin bags to clear up the areas around some of our services – bagging almost thirty sacks full of rubbish.
We’re really proud to work closely with the local communities we are part of, and are always looking for ways to improve the areas we work in.
A participant from our Red Door centre said: “It’s lovely to come out, help and give back a bit. I can’t believe how much we got! Let me know and I’ll help you do this again.”
Amanda Croome, our head of homelessness, said: “The litter-pick as part of the brilliant Great British Spring Clean, was not only a way of having a positive impact on the communities our services are part of, but was also a great way for our staff, volunteers and people who are experiencing poverty, discrimination, or homelessness, to contribute positively to the local area too.
“Homeless people are often considered to be part of the problem, producing litter, but given the opportunity they are happy to help to clean up the streets for everyone’s benefit.”
Our services offer a wide range of activities and initiatives to support people with their health and wellbeing.
