Community Sponsorship
Community Sponsorship is a Government scheme that enables a committed local groups of volunteers to safely resettle, welcome and support families of refugees directly in their local community. It is one of the rare legal pathways for refugees to come to the UK.
We support volunteers and refugee families to help them navigate the process, acting as their sponsor.
Everyone deserves safety and a warm welcome.
The Community Sponsorship scheme aims to enable refugee families to gain independence and pursue their aspirations in the UK.
We are always keen to hear from people across Greater Manchester and Lancashire who would be interested in volunteering to help a refugee family to safely resettle in their community.
All you need to do to get involved is to volunteer with Caritas and start a group that is passionate about making an impact.
We will act as your sponsor and guide you every step of the way, providing advice on how to apply to the scheme and how to support the family once they are in the UK.
“We saw it as an end to suffering and poverty by coming to a country that was safe. When I go to bed at night, I know that my children are safe – and that was our purpose.”
