Collecting items to support us
We are very grateful for the in-kind collections many groups like to have on our behalf. They save the charity money, which means funds can be diverted to where they are critically needed in supporting children and adults.
Top secret Christmas project...
We’re buzzing about this!
If you’re looking ahead to Christmas and are part of a business, community or school group, or other organisation that might be thinking about supporting us, our fundraising team would love to talk to you about something very special, exciting and top secret we have coming up…
Collections of store cupboard items
If you could please help with supplying our services with some commonly required store cupboard items, we’d be hugely grateful.
Donations for Christmas
If you’re unable to fundraise or contribute to our Advent Appeal this year, we’d welcome items for our Christmas lunch events.
Christmas dinners with all the trimmings, some party games, a new outfit and a present from Santa. Please choose only items on the list below and email our team at fundraising@caritassalford.org.uk if you can provide multiple of anything. Due to a lack of space, we’re unable to accept shoeboxes, so please transfer the content of these into large bags before delivery. Thank you.
Where your money goes
It costs £12,000 per day to provide the level of service and support being delivered in Caritas projects across Greater Manchester and Lancashire.
Which means that everyone who needs it is able to access urgent practical help required, as well as any advice and support that will help them for the long term.
Every single donation matters because it means nobody is turned away or left behind.
These are just some examples of how your donation could be used to provide critical support – right now – or help someone begin to transform their own life with dignity.
-
£30.06is the cost of professional support to someone facing a crisis
-
£107.50is the average cost of a weekly shop for a family of four people
-
£112.16is the average energy bills for a month for a 2-3 bed home
-
£1,500is the cost to sponsor one of our rooms for a year, preventing someone from being homeless
How your donations help
Jo was homeless and sleeping rough at Manchester airport when they came to our Cornerstone centre for support. Unable to claim benefits, work or secure a place to call home, they asked our team to help.
