We are very grateful for the in-kind collections many groups like to have on our behalf. They save the charity money, which means funds can be diverted to where they are critically needed in supporting children and adults.

Collections of items this Winter

Donations are welcome all year round. We are currently urgently in need of shopping voucher or cash donations. If you are unable to donate a shopping voucher or cash at this time, please see our guide on what items we are looking for this Winter.

Collections of store cupboard items

If you could please help with supplying our services with some commonly required store cupboard items, we’d be hugely grateful.

Perishable items

We buy fresh food on a daily basis, so if you are able to contribute anything towards the cost of these, we would welcome any kind donation.

We are unable to arrange pick-up collections, so politely request that any donations are dropped off between 10am and 4pm Monday – Friday at your nearest Caritas project:

Where your money goes

It costs £12,000 per day to provide the level of service and support being delivered in Caritas projects across Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

Which means that everyone who needs it is able to access urgent practical help required, as well as any advice and support that will help them for the long term.

Every single donation matters because it means nobody is turned away or left behind.

These are just some examples of how your donation could be used to provide critical support – right now – or help someone begin to transform their own life with dignity.

  • £30.06
is the cost of professional support to someone facing a crisis
  • £107.50
is the average cost of a weekly shop for a family of four people
  • £112.16
is the average energy bills for a month for a 2-3 bed home
  • £1,500
is the cost to sponsor one of our rooms for a year, preventing someone from being homeless

How your donations help

Jo was homeless and sleeping rough at Manchester airport when they came to our Cornerstone centre for support. Unable to claim benefits, work or secure a place to call home, they asked our team to help.
