Parents and babies prepare for sponsored pram push

A group of parents, babies and staff from our Young Parents’ Accommodation in Blackburn will be pushing themselves with a very special challenge this May – a sponsored pram push! 

The group, who will be taking on the sponsored walk on 22 May, are appealing for sponsorship from anyone able to support their special challenge. 

Judith, from the Young Parents’ Accommodation, said: “We can’t wait to get jogging, raise some much needed funds, and enjoy a lovely picnic at the finish line.” 

The challenge is part of our Every Step campaign, which is asking people from across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and beyond, to consider doing something which pushes them out of their comfort zone this year.  This can be something physical or mental – anything goes as long as it is a challenge for the person taking it on. 

Patrick O’Dowd, our director, said: “Well done to the team from our Young Parents’ Accommodation for getting involved in the Every Step campaign.  This is a brilliant idea and a great way for the parents, their babies and the staff from the service to all spend time out in the fresh air, having a brilliant time and raising much-needed funds. 

“The money raised by the team will go directly into the service, so every step really will make a huge difference. 

“Thanks to anyone who is able to support the team by sponsoring them, and also to anyone who decides to take on their own Every Step challenge in 2024 in aid of our charity. 

“Demand for our services has increased significantly during the cost-of-living crisis and we’re committed to supporting as many people as possible at a time they need us most.  It’s a really difficult environment to fundraise in at the moment, but we’re really grateful to everyone who thinks of us at this challenging time.  It’s much appreciated and really does make a huge difference to the lives of people we work alongside.”
