Walkers enjoy a ‘peely’ good day…
Do you know someone who would enjoy this article?
A team from one of our services had a ‘peely’ good day out as part of our Every Step campaign this year.
A group of walkers, including staff, volunteers, people who access our Red Door centre service, and even dog Poppy, took on a special challenge walking to Peel Tower.
Every Step challenges people to take on a physical or mental challenge which pushes them out of their comfort zone, and the walk did just that – as well as being great for participants physical and mental health and wellbeing.
Michael Holmes who leads the team at the Red Door centre said: “It’s great to raise awareness of our charity and our work, and we had a brilliant day walking to what is arguably Bury’s most famous monument.
“It was great to all come together and get out in the fresh air, and the feedback was that everyone really enjoyed the day.
“Helping people locally improve their health and wellbeing is a huge part of our work and this Every Step challenge was just one way of doing that. We run a whole range of activities and information sessions so anyone wishing to find out more is welcome to drop into Red Door as we’d love to help.”
There are lots of other Every Step events taking place through the year, so why not take a look and sign up for one too? You can join one of our Caritas challenges, or come up with your own! Visit https://www.caritassalford.org.uk/campaign/every-step/ now for more information.
Thank you!
