Do you know someone who would enjoy this article?

The Caritas Advent appeal this year is asking us all to shine a spotlight on what is really important at Christmas.

If you haven’t seen it, you can take a look now by visiting our Bee There website page…or scroll down this page to watch the bee-rilliant animation!

Here, Kirstie, Iona and Rachel – our fundraising team – tell us more about what Christmas truly means to them…

What does Caritas and our services mean to you and what do you do here?

Our names are Kirstie, Iona and Rachel and we’re the fundraising team at Caritas Salford.  We feel we have the best job in the world, because we are able to connect those supporters that wish to help with the families and individuals who are in crisis.

What is the true meaning of Christmas to you and how will you put it into action this year?

Family.  Being able to have time off to spend ones with loved ones.  We will reconnect with those we haven’t seen for a while, but also think of others who might not have anyone this Christmas, and try to include them too.

How will you #BeeThere for others this Christmas and what would you like to shine a spotlight on?

There’s so much bad news out there that we want to shine the spotlight on hope.

One of our priorities at work will be to share the remarkable stories of transformation, so that donors know exactly how their donations have helped people accessing Caritas services. To be able to tell our supporters:  “Your help made this possible!”.

What’s really important at this time of year?

It is so tempting to get carried away with the plans for parties, pantomimes and the endless shopping and to do lists.  But Caritas means love in action.  That’s what’s really important.

We have a lot of bee related famous faces in our appeal animation (you can scroll down the page to watch it now).

Bee-yonce, Lewis Capal-bee…can you think of any other bee related stars?

If there is a prize for this one, we think we might win it…! How about The Beetles, Buzzcocks, Blossoms, Paul McCartbee and Wings, The notorious Bee.I.G., Beejork, Ed Beeran, Honeybabes, BeeCap, Beepeche Mode, The Beech Boys, The Bee-utiful South…
