When we support people in local communities, we provide a truly holistic approach and prioritise both physical and mental health and wellbeing.

Karen works as health and homelessness link worker at our Caritas House accommodation and here she shares more about her work, plans for Christmas, and what she’d like to shine a spotlight on too…

What does Caritas and our service mean to you and what do you do here?

I am the health and homelessness link worker at Caritas House.

It means that I can follow my passion in supporting people who are marginalised and disadvantaged, supporting them to achieve the best outcomes possible for them.

What is the true meaning of Christmas to you and how will you put it into action this year?

The true meaning of Christmas is family and spending time together.

I will be spending it with loved ones and hoping to bring some Christmas joy to the residents at our accommodation too.

How will you #BeeThere for others this Christmas?

At Caritas House we will be decorating the project, giving gifts and providing a Christmas dinner for all to share.

What would you like to shine a spotlight on this Christmas?

I would like to shine a spotlight homelessness and the struggles that some people experience.

What’s really important at this time of year?

The most important thing is making people feel like they belong and sharing messages of love and hope.
