We’re excited to be leading on the delivery of a special event for people experiencing homelessness, people at risk of becoming homeless, and those working alongside them too.

The Manchester Homeless Partnership health information fair, which will take place on Wednesday 8 October from 11am to 2pm, will see experts from a wide variety of organisations gathered together to provide information and support.

The aim of the day is to help improve health and wellbeing of people locally, and to equip them with the information and support they need so they are signposted to services or organisations that can help them improve both their physical and mental health and wellbeing.

The event will take place at Moss Side West Indian Sports and Social Club, Manchester, M14 4SW, and all attendees will receive a free goodie bag, refreshments and lunch.

There will be a wide range of stalls and activities taking place and there’s no need to book – simply drop in on the day and all are welcome.

Amanda Croome, head of homelessness for our charity, said: “We ran a health and homelessness fair last year for the first time and it was extremely well received.  People who attended fed back how valuable it had been and we were really keen to further build on that success this year.

Our recent report showed that people experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless have considerably poor outcomes and experiences when it comes to their physical and mental health and wellbeing, so events like this are incredibly important in empowering and informing them.

“This fair is just one of the ways we do that and we hold a range of other activities, sessions, drop-ins and other support at our services in Greater Manchester and Lancashire too.  These are coproduced and shaped by the people who access our services to make sure we continue to provide assistance that best suits their needs and wishes.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming people to the event in October and if anyone needs support in the meantime they are always welcome to drop into our services.  Our teams are always happy to help people, whether at a time of acute crisis, or as they change their lives for the long-term too.”
