Did you know there’s a very special event coming up in Liverpool on 20th September this year?
The Caritas Social Action Network (CSAN), which brings together Caritas agencies from across England and Wales, is holding a Jubilee of Social Justice Event – and we’re offering free transport to Liverpool and back for anyone interested in coming along to accompany our Caritas Salford team.
Patrick O’Dowd, our director, said: “Social justice has arguably never been more important. With a rise in the number of people in Greater Manchester and Lancashire who are experiencing poverty, homelessness, disadvantage and displacement, the services of charities like ours is increasingly in demand.
“We can all play our part in helping to uphold the human dignity of every single individual and it’s exciting that so many people across not just the area we work within but also more broadly across the rest of England, Wales and beyond are pulling together to shout loudly and drive change.
“Little actions can add up to something huge and life-changing.
“In this important Jubilee year, this event will be a chance to really celebrate what has gone before and look ahead to other ways we can all help people as they transform their lives with dignity.

The event will take place on Saturday 20 September from 12 noon at Liverpool Met Cathedral. It will start with Holy Mass with Chief Celebrant Most Rev. Malcolm McMahon OP Emeritus Archbishop of Liverpool, followed by a light lunch and social action exhibition.
There’ll also be a chance to hear reflections – and gain inspiration from – leaders in Catholic Social Action from across England and Wales.
