Caritas Compost Club inspires Gorton Monastery team
Do you know someone who would enjoy this article?
If you haven’t heard about the Caritas Compost Club which our Lalley community allotment team runs, why not take a look here for more information?
It may inspire you to start composting too…which is exactly what happened when the team from Gorton Monastery came to have a look around.
The Greater Manchester health and wellbeing enterprise Sow The City put the monastery team in touch so they could come along to see our Ridan composter in action – and they were so impressed and inspired they set up a composting project of their own!
Viv Andrews, trust manager at the monastery, said: ‘We visited the pioneering hot compost project at the Caritas Lalley centre right at the beginning of our Green Space fund adventure.
“We were so inspired by Raddon’s infectious knowledge and passion, by the local children singing the compost song and by how successfully the project has engaged with and changed the behaviours of all generations of the local community.’
We’re always so pleased when our work inspires others to take action and we loved visiting the lovely new monastery garden too.
Good luck to everyone there, we wish you all the best with the project.
It’s unbe-leaf-able!
