Our Caritas House accommodation supports people who are experiencing homelessness, providing a safe place to live and helping them to improve their health, wellbeing and independent living skills before moving into their own tenancies.

This year our Advent appeal, which aims to raise much-needed funds so we can #BeeThere for people at Christmas and beyond, is asking for your help to shine a spotlight on what’s really important.

Here, one of the Caritas House residents shares their thoughts on the support we give, and what’s really important at Christmas…

 

What does Caritas and our service mean to you? 

The service has provided me with a safe place to stay and support to reach my goals. 

 

Is there anything unexpected here that surprised you? 

How welcoming and friendly all the staff and residents are. 

 

Why is the support we give so important? 

It helps me to reach my goals and really improve my life.  Thank you.

 

What is the true meaning of Christmas to you and how will you put it into action this year?  

The true meaning is love and giving to others. 

 

How will you #BeeThere for others this Christmas?  

I will help to cook the Christmas dinner at Caritas House.

 

What would you like to shine a spotlight on this Christmas?  

The great service that Caritas provides to all the residents here.
