Supporting Jesse*
Jessie had been struggling with their mental health and had taken steps to end their life.
They were referred to our School Service team for counselling support.
Initially, Jessie used to struggle to express their emotions and would become overwhelmed very quickly.
Over the course of the sessions, however, they started to be able to express their emotions more effectively, both in the room and at home with parents and family members.
Jessie expressed that the sessions had helped them to feel stronger emotionally and able to cope when things got difficult.
They learned how to trust people with how they felt and noticed that when things become overwhelming if they talk about it, then the feelings can become more manageable.
Jessie mentioned that their relationships with friends and family members had improved, due to them being more open, and they started to do more activities with friends and family – steps which also significantly helped their mental health by using their time in more positive ways.

Where your money goes
It costs £12,000 per day to provide the level of service and support being delivered in Caritas projects across Greater Manchester and Lancashire.
Which means that everyone who needs it is able to access urgent practical help required, as well as any advice and support that will help them for the long term.
Every single donation matters because it means nobody is turned away or left behind.
These are just some examples of how your donation could be used to provide critical support – right now – or help someone begin to transform their own life with dignity.
