We work in schools to provide Social Work and Therapy services to pupils and their families to assist with any difficulties they may be experiencing. The aims of the service are achieved through assessment of each pupil or family and the design, delivery and evaluation of a package of tailored support.   Currently the team consists of 29 professionals with a range of skills and experience. We have staff specialised in bereavement, evidence based Parenting Programmes, Youth Offending, Safeguarding, SEN, Family Support, Looked After Children and Leaving Care, Art and Play Therapy and Therapeutic Interventions. The majority of staff are Social Workers, in addition we have Counsellors and Therapists from a range of backgrounds.

We have a great deal of experience working in partnership to get to the heart of the matter – helping children and young people who need affirmation, support and resolution to the problems they face as they grow up.

The service aims to:

  • Remove barriers to learning and participation.
  • Develop the full potential of individuals within the values and ethos of their school.
  • Nurture the emotional and spiritual development of individual children and young people within the school and home community.
  • Address critical personal and social issues.
  • Develop new skills, knowledge, attitudes and values that assist children and young people in reaching their full potential.
