We work in schools to provide Social Work and Therapy services to pupils and their families to assist with any difficulties they may be experiencing. The aims of the service are achieved through assessment of each pupil or family and the design, delivery and evaluation of a package of tailored support. Currently the team consists of 29 professionals with a range of skills and experience. We have staff specialised in bereavement, evidence based Parenting Programmes, Youth Offending, Safeguarding, SEN, Family Support, Looked After Children and Leaving Care, Art and Play Therapy and Therapeutic Interventions. The majority of staff are Social Workers, in addition we have Counsellors and Therapists from a range of backgrounds.
We have a great deal of experience working in partnership to get to the heart of the matter – helping children and young people who need affirmation, support and resolution to the problems they face as they grow up.

I felt that our more vulnerable families continued to receive regular support from C and that gave us knowledge and enabled us to act quickly if needed. Having another person to talk through different cases was also a huge benefit to me at what was a tricky time.
We received many emails from parents who were appreciative of the support school had offered and we had a high percentage of children attend school prior to the summer holidays. I think that Caritas’s service provided by C was a big part in helping the children and families feel safe.
