I have 14 years continuous work experience with children and families, working with a variety of people in a range of settings. My experience in Early Years and play opportunities has been as an assistant play leader of before and after school clubs and play schemes, where I worked with children and young people from disadvantaged areas in Manchester. I have worked facilitating contact for children separated from their parents and worked for seven years as a Family Intervention and Support Worker. I qualified as a Social Worker in January 2013 and worked within Manchester Local Authority for 3 years before moving to Caritas. Within Caritas I work as a School Social Worker where I work directly with children, young people, their families and teachers through conducting 1:1 sessions with children and adults, group work interventions, completing assessments, multi-agency working to improve educational outcomes and providing parenting support to improve on health, social, emotional and behavioural issues. Although challenging at times, I have a passion for and enjoy building positive relationships through working with children and their families to achieve the right results to ensure they have better outcomes in life.
