LEGO®-based Therapy

Target population: Key Stage 1,2, 3 and 4. The programme is suitable for children who have some social communication difficulties including autism, social anxiety, social communication difficulties, and friendship difficulties.
Number of pupils: Groups of 3 pupils
Duration: 1 hour delivery for 12 week programme
Evaluation tools used to measure impact: Pre flyer for Parents/Carers, Pre meeting with parents to be offered to assess child’s needs, post meeting for progress report
School to provide:Referral, consent form and suitable room

 

Collaborative play provides opportunities for children to practise skills for turn-taking, listening, sharing ideas, communication, compromise, problem solving and shared attention. LEGO®-based therapy has been found to be effective for children with autism and related conditions, aged 6-16.
