Activities to welcome and integrate people seeking refuge

The team at Caritas Aspire, formerly known as Refugee Education, has always worked hard to provide a place where people can experience a sense of community and belonging, so that everyone can learn about each other’s culture and customs.
Supported and facilitated by one of our tutors, we now have weekly cooking sessions for people, reducing social isolation and allowing people to bring favourite recipes from home to share with others.   The cooking is inevitably followed by time together, sharing a meal and good conversation, creating new friendships and breaking down barriers.
