Since the beginning of this academic year, Caritas Salford’s Catholic Social Teaching Trainer, Kath Ansley, has visited twenty two of our diocesan schools to train and inspire a new generation of social justice activists. As a result, we’re delighted that over 150 new Caritas Ambassadors are Putting Love into Action in their local area.
Caritas Ambassadors play a vital role in raising awareness across their school communities about the work of Caritas in the Diocese of Salford. They put the principles of Catholic Social Teaching into practice by campaigning for positive change for those most in need in their local area.
Each time a school lets us know about any social action their pupils have taken, the impact it has made and how it links to the social teaching of the Church, they receive a Caritas Called To Action certificate as a gesture of thanks and recognition for their achievement. We are proud to have awarded over thirty one certificates this term.
We think this is a wonderful indicator of how young people are striving to make the world a fair and just place for all. For more details about Caritas Ambassador training or support for your staff on Catholic Social Teaching, please email Kath on email@example.com
