Happy 10th Birthday – Caritas Charity Shop

Happy 10th Birthday celebrations were held at the Caritas Charity Shop in Bolton on 22nd November with Madam Mayor Elaine Sherrington of Bolton, Bishop John Arnold and the volunteers and supporters of the shop and drop-in.  Mark Wiggin, Director of Caritas welcomed the Mayor, Bishop John and all the guests that included volunteers and Caritas staff who had supported the setting up of the shop and community drop in all those years ago.  Bishop John opened the celebrations with a prayer. Lead volunteer Bernie Keegan spoke about the wonderful atmosphere and the welcome people received who visited the shop and drop in and talked about how the shop was not your standard charity shop as it impacted so positively on so many people’s lives offering personal support and help to the people who made the regular trip to visit the café.  The applause that followed was for the many volunteers who were delighted to celebrate the special day.

Our volunteers at the Bolton Shop and community drop in would love you to visit them.  Besides generating valuable unrestricted income to support our services, the shop recycles clothing and good that assists people on low incomes and provides a drop-in for anyone in the lovely café.
