Called to Action Stars

A BIG THANK YOU must go to our latest Called to Action Stars who have helped Caritas Services and their local community during and since the Christmas period.

Sacred Heart Primary in Gorton organised a reverse Advent calendar to collect items for their local foodbank. They also made hearts to put in Christmas cards for local care home residents and when they delivered them, sang Christmas carols to residents who were watching through the window.

St Paul’s Primary in Feniscowles, Blackburn, You organised a Christmas toy collection in very difficult circumstances. They collected an amazing 235 new toys to give to children with very few toys to play with. They also organised an Advent foodbank collection and during themed weeks of HOPE and FAITH, gathered an outstanding 556 items to donate to their local foodbank.

St Peter’s Primary in Newchurch put together a fabulous Christmas video to bring joy and happiness to those who might be feeling isolated, lonely or sad. They put time and love into making something very special for others in your school and wider community. Sebastian put together a hamper of food for a family in need.

Is your school a Called to Action Star? Let us know what you did, how you did it and what the impact was, by emailing k.ansley@caritassalford.org.uk
