Called to Action Star

A BIG THANK YOU must go to our latest Called To Action Stars who have helped Caritas Services and their local community during and since the Christmas period.
Christ the King Primary in Newton Heath collected food for Caritas Cornerstone so we could continue to provide our daily meals for beneficiaries. Malise from Sacred Heart Primary in Gorton wrote a poem on homelessness for our recent Concert4Hope with Salford Loaves & Fishes.
St Edward’s Primary in Darwen held a Caritas Week in school and sold hot chocolate to raise funds for Caritas. You also wrote prayers and drew pictures for residents of your local care home.
St Joseph’s Primary in Reddish made Christmas cards for local care homes. St Osmund’s & St Andrew’s Primary in Bolton made over 370 cards and book marks to include in activity packs for the elderly and isolated in their local area.
St Peter’s Primary in Newchurch raised £324.89 for the Royal British Legion. St Peter’s pupils Eva & Rosie wrote cards and letters to elderly and isolated people in their local area, including in care homes. Oliver & Charlie picked up several bags of litter, and Gabriella put together a shoebox of treats to give to Samaritan’s Purse.
Is your school a Called to Action Star? Let us know what you did, how you did it and what the impact was, by emailing k.ansley@caritassalford.org.uk
