Anti-Slavery Day – 18 October

Anti-Slavery Day, 18th October, provides an opportunity to raise awareness of human trafficking and modern slavery, and encourage government, local authorities, companies, charities and individuals to do what they can to address the problem.

To mark Anti-Slavery Day the Caritas Freedom Bus, developed and designed Our Lady of the Valley parishioners Clitheroe, Lancashire in the Diocese of Salford and supported by Caritas Anti-Tafficking project, will be visiting towns in Lancashire.  The trip, funded by the Lancashire Constabulary’s Pan Lancashire Anti-Slavery Partnership, of which Caritas is a partner will highlight the different aspects of modern slavery and promote the National Slavery Helpline number 08000 121 700.
