40 years of service to the Deaf Community

Caritas Diocese of Salford is thrilled to see the work of Sister Maria McCready recognised as part of the celebrations for the 40-year anniversary since CACDP’s first register of sign language interpreters.
Her 40 years of service to the Deaf Community includes her qualifications as a Registered BSL/English Interpreter and a Social Worker.
These skills and passion for support have improved the lives of so many Deaf people, not only in our very own St Joseph’s Mission to Deaf People , but in partnerships with Deaf services across Manchester.
Sr Maria’s work is a great example of how we are called to put love into action and we are proud to have been part of her commitment to Deaf people.
