About the conference:
Join us for a free day of learning and reflection on the social teaching of Pope Leo XIV.

We’ll hear insights into Dilexi te and Magnifica humanitas, looking at what the documents mean for us when responding to injustice locally.

We’re delighted to be joined by a guest speaker, theologian Anna Rowlands*, as well as hearing contributions from people responding to issues of social justice in their local contexts.

Lunch will be provided.

This event is open to anyone aged 18 and over who is interested, and we’d particularly encourage those based in parishes and schools in the Diocese of Salford to come along.

*Anna Rowlands is a renowned theologian and the St Hilda Professor in Catholic Social Thought and Practice at Durham University.  She was seconded to the Vatican in 2023 to contribute to the Synod on Synodality and was recently re-appointed by Pope Leo XIV as a member of the Dicastery of Integral Human Development for a further five-year period.  At the end of May this year, Anna was among the speakers at the launch of Pope Leo’s first encyclical Magnifica humanitas, addressing the ethical and social implications of AI.
