Caritas Big Sleep Out

Caritas Big Sleep Out

Will you help us support people experiencing homelessness by hosting your own Big Sleep Out?

As the days become shorter and cooler, we’re reminded of the difficult conditions experienced by anyone sleeping rough, or worrying about whether their temporary accommodation is making their mental or physical health worse.

Due to the cost-of-living crisis, we’re seeing unprecedented numbers of people coming for help in our projects across Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

What is a sponsored Big Sleep Out?
It’s choosing not to sleep in the comfort of your own bed for one night only and asking people to sponsor you.

You can arrange one on your own, with friends, family or colleagues and at a time that works for you.  It can take place at home, at work or at a community centre. Why not take a look at our pack for some handy hints on what to consider when hosting your own event?

A Big Sleep Out isn’t intended to show what it’s like to seep rough, but instead helps us all to stop, reflect and think about what many young people and adults experiencing homelessness are facing every day.

Start fundraising now:
Every penny raised is urgently needed to directly help people in crisis. Set up a fundraising page now and start collecting sponsorship safely and securely.

Or sponsor a room instead:

We operate supported accommodation across Greater Manchester and Lancashire to ensure people don’t have to sleep rough, sofa surf or stay in unsuitable bed and breakfast accommodation. If you’re interested in sponsoring one of our rooms for a year, please get in touch.
