General Election 2024

Close up of the clock and blue sky

It’s incredibly important that we all play our part in the forthcoming general election…

With so many complex social problems currently affecting people locally – and on the horizon too – it can be hard to know how to most effectively participate in the forthcoming general election to help.

There aren’t easy answers to many of the issues we see while working with people in communities across Greater Manchester.

Issues of poverty, homelessness and discrimination are often interconnected and many factors come into play when trying to effectively address them.

Seeing past the soundbites and trying to get to the heart of the issue is important as we all consider how we might vote in July.

What we advocate for

At Caritas Salford, as well as supporting people at a time of crisis and helping them transform their lives with dignity, we are also passionate about advocating – loudly – for change for the long-term.

Tackling poverty and its causes underpins all our work, service provision and advocacy too.

We’re proud to call for a better, more just world where the voices of people positively influence the systems, decisions and resources that affect those most in need.

Our policy work and campaigns are rooted in our experience of accompanying and listening to people who access our services.
