What makes us different

We have a great deal of experience working in partnership to get to the heart of the matter – helping children and young people who need affirmation, support and resolution to the problems they face as they grow up.

We offer: Commitment: We will stand by you, your staff and your pupils. We extend this commitment to families and carers. We back up our commitment to all our schools with a written Service Level Agreement that guarantees delivery of our service throughout the life of the contract.

Partnership: We will understand your needs and deliver support packages that meet these needs, regularly reviewing with you the service and demonstrating the outcomes that add value to your school or college. The work we do with a variety of schools in the diocese gives us a unique understanding of the support needs of learners and educators in the primary, secondary and college education system. From this broad base of service position, we have gained insight into the needs of schools and colleges that:

• Enables our service to appreciate and value the mission of your school/college.
• Directs us to delivering key support services in counselling, group work and family support.
• Ensures quality and consistency in service delivery.
• Enables a faster response to issues and concerns to support our partners when they need us most.
• Evaluates and shares the learning from our services and assists us to update practice and procedures and improve the efficiency of services.

Case study

“Our school has had support from Catholic Children’s Rescue Society for a number of years. They have helped support children and their families in a wide variety of ways. The issues have ranged from helping a mother with M.E. to supporting a family suffering the trauma of domestic abuse. The social workers have had a regular slot in the week when they can talk to individual children for whom the school has a concern and talking to parents about issues that affect them. The impact on the children, parents and school has been immeasurable and include improvements in attendance, attitude to work, to rescuing families from distress. We now consider this service currently delivered by the new charity, Caritas, as part of the fabric and function of the school. The cost is affordable as it is supported by the Diocese of Salford and we find it excellent value for money.”
