Welcome to Caritas |
In 2010, two well-known North West charities, Catholic Children’s Rescue Society and Catholic Welfare Societies, were merged to form Caritas. We provide a range of professional and volunteer-supported services to all people experiencing social, financial and emotional disadvantage and need.
Caritas Diocese of Salford is the local branch of Caritas Social Action Network (CSAN) in England and Wales. CSAN is in turn part of Caritas Europa which is in turn part of Caritas Internationalis. We are a small part of a global charity that is constantly campaigning for equality and justice.
Our service areas, as seen below, range from professional services commissioned by Local Authorities to volunteer-led community projects which enable communities to get involved in actively helping and shaping their neighbourhoods.
