Volunteering |
Volunteers are a vital part of the work we do in the diocese. There are so many ways to put your time and talents to good use. Give your time to Caritas and in return you'll reap the benefits of the support, experience and training on offer as a member of the Caritas team. To become a volunteer, click here.
Volunteering:
Volunteers form the life blood of Caritas – we could not function without them! We offer a variety of voluntary positions across the many different areas in which we work.
Depending on your interests and skills, we can make sure that you find the right volunteering opportunity to suit you. We also have special opportunities for employee volunteering, young volunteers and university students. Volunteers such as Kathryn have carved out their own roles at Caritas – read more about her here.
Why do people volunteer? There are many reasons why people choose to get involved. Here are just a few:
• to support the work of Caritas within the community
• to give witness to the duty we have to “be a good neighbour”
• to do something unusual and inspiring
• to meet new people
• to give something back
• to learn skills and develop a better CV
If you speak to people who already volunteer, they will probably tell you that they do it because they love it. So why not help other people, and have some fun at the same time!
