What we believe |
The beliefs of Caritas Diocese of Salford are informed by over 150 years of social care services in the Diocese, the practice of taking action on the social gospel and reflection on Catholic Social Teaching. At the heart of our work is the dignity of every individual living in the community.
Caritas believes that each person is a unique individual and possesses a God-given dignity. This results in the obligation to respect and protect human life, develop the potential of each person and to support and accompany all people where there is need.
Caritas believes in positive relationships in the family, at work, and in the local community encouraging the co-existence of diverse groups and individuals to live peacefully together as good neighbours .
Caritas believes in a life of solidarity together with all people of good will: a life in which the vulnerable are protected, and there is no need for prejudice as we all take part in and contribute to our society for the common good.
