Katherine Ashby recently joined Caritas as a volunteer researcher who is looking into issues such as homelessness, child poverty and family breakdown within the Diocese of Salford. She is a graduate of the University of Manchester (School of Politics), completing an MA in Public Policy. Caritas formed the basis of a case study for her dissertation which investigated partnerships between voluntary organizations and the UK Government in relation to the recent funding cuts. Katherine says, “Volunteering for Caritas is a great way to build experience in the field I want to work – namely public policy in the 3rd sector. While looking for work in London, I am sharpening my skills as well as helping a great cause.”

Caritas offers a range of volunteering opportunities for all people. If you have a specific skill or not and think you can help, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
